Your Path to Becoming an HMIS Super User
The quality of data is essential to the work being done in our community. By mastering the HMIS, you move beyond simple data entry to understanding how to effectively communicate the success of your programs.
Our training curriculum is designed to help staff at all levels enhance their understanding of data collection, performance measurement, and system design.
Beyond software functionality, these courses ensure every user is equipped to protect client privacy through state-of-the-art security features and rigorous standards.
Trainings
Welcome to Clarity HMIS!
All new Clarity Human Services HMIS users are required to complete Clarity Human Services: General Training before they will be granted access to the system. Clarity General Training is offered via a learning management software as needed either for the first time or as a refresher. Users check their knowledge by completing the quiz questions in order to gain access to the system.
New users must also watch Napa HMIS Data and Privacy Security Training prior to gaining access to the system.
New users must then contact their HMIS Administrator, Karina Gallegos-Ruiz, and she will request a new user account. Once the account has been set-up, the user will receive log-in credentials from the Bitfocus Help Desk. For more information on signup/registration and completion please click HERE.

- Clarity Human Services: Introduction to Reports: Find out out to run, create, manage and set up reports in Clarity here.
- Looker/Data Analysis Models Overview: Learn how to create models based on your needs, run a basic look and filter data, and more in this training.
- Advance Data Analysis: In this course, you will gain insight on how to customize your data, show you all the exciting possibilities you can do through Looker, and find supporting resources.
- Data Quality Reports: Learn how to find and fix data quality issues.
- Understanding the Impact of Clean Data: The quality of data is so important to the work being done in our community. This course gives you a high level look at why data quality is essential and will help you to recognize data quality errors when they occur.
- General HMIS Requirements: This course will help you understand what HMIS requirements are and how they are applied within Clarity Human Services.
- Understanding HUD HMIS Guidance and Resources: This course is designed to provide guidance on how to understand HUD Data Standards Manual, HUD Data Dictionary, and other Federal Partner Resources.
- Frequently Asked Questions: We're excited to offer this FAQ course! Our sole intent in offering this course is to get your answers quickly, efficiently, and in a way that is easy to learn. Here we answer questions that would typically result in a ticket through our Help Desk. We find that offering these resources ad hoc gives our users the ability to find answers quickly.
